I was putting Maggie Anne to bed on Sunday night. We had gone to the zoo that day and were discussing all the animals we had seen. There had been a lot of bears out that day and after we talked about those, she paused and told me, "Now I scared . . . Now I scared because you talked about the bears."

She was soon satisfied that the giraffes and elephants were going to make sure that the bears stayed in their cages.
Boyd was putting Maggie Anne to bed the other night and before praying, he asked her if there was anything she would like to talk to God about.

Her response, "Hmmmm . . . Dresses!"

The grumpy face is just timing of the pic. Dalton had a good time at the Isis parade.

Sweet Smiling Girl

Jessie Anne was smiling herself in the mirror until she looked up and saw me holding the baby. Then the pouty lip came out and she started to cry. This was repeated several time. Clearly, it was not acceptable for Mama to be holding some other baby.

So Sweet!

So I was telling Maggie Anne that Valentine's Day is a special day to say, "I Love . . ."

"Dalton!!!" she exclaimed.

I'm going to keep a record of how much she adores him now because one day I know she might not remember feeling that way.

My big girl was on a cuteness binge today. A couple of times today she has asked me to pick her up. We've bragged on her for not doing this figuring she didn't because she was a second child. Tonight, she asked to be picked up, which I did and I asked her when this had started. She matter-of-factly answered, "On Friday."

Tonight she also changed up her bedtime routine song request. She standardly wants "Sunshine" but tonight she asked for "Winkle Winkle." I almost couldn't sing for the big smile. Sweet girl!

Fun Game

So our family watched the Super Bowl for the commercials. We discovered a very fun game. We would play the commercial, then pause it and ask Dalton what the commercial was for.

This David Beckham commercial was "Sooooo, gross" and "obviously for underwear."

On the other hand, this Teleflora commercial was watched in slack-jawed silence. When asked what the commercial was about, Dalton said, "Ummm, make-up?"

This was a commercial for "Babies . . . no wait! Chips!"

This one was for "Dogs?"

This was actually Maggie Anne's favorite. She kept asking to see the "BaBa song" again.

I think this was my favorite. I don't know exactly what it says about our household that Dalton knew when any commercial was for beer.
