Jessie just told me her favorite color is chocolate.

When I got Jessie from school today, she quickly asked me if I knew what made the thunder. She went on to tell me that it was Jesus bowling at a big party he is having. Her classmate Shepherd told her and she completely buys it.

Jessie called the little lights on the ceiling fan "sister lights." She was telling me something was wrong with the sister lights and I had to get her to show me. I think it's a pretty good name for them. :-)

Kool-Aid eggs work! 2/3 cup water and packet of different flavors of Kool-Aid. I didn't have all of these colors of Kool-Aid, so I supplemented with food coloring to get more colors.

There was a picture there, but I'm having serious issues with my blogging app, which seems to be refusing to put any pictures on here. 😤

Jessie Anne asked me for the password to the microwave to make popcorn. :-)

Jessie's learning to play Mario Kart. It's very serious business. However, she has the best attitude of any of the kids about just playing for fun and not crying when she loses :-)

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

I've been trying to utilize my slow cooker more, especially on the weekend when I can do those recipes that require less time than we are away on a work day. Today I tried spaghetti sauce. I took inspiration from one of the Fix It and Forget It cookbook recipes, but none of them were exactly what I wanted, so I adapted it.

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion
3 slices crumbled bacon (I used what was leftover from breakfast this morning)
3-4 cloves garlic
2 cans tomato soup (inspired from the cookbook)
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 bell pepper (I used orange in this because it hides better in the red sauce)
Italian seasoning
Salt, pepper, Tony's to taste
Drizzle of heavy cream or half & half if you enjoy a pink sauce

Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Then throw everything into slow cooker. Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Add desired amount of cream and stir when ready to serve.

The cookbook recipe called for canned mushrooms. Boyd and I will just add those to ours.

Really turned out well.

Maggie just referred to her apron as her kitchen bra.

As in, "I want to help you with the cake. Let me get my kitchen bra."

She couldn't understand why I had the giggles after that.
