Me: Maggie, what happened to your finger?

MA: Well, I was cutting and my finger got in the way.

Wanted to use some leftover rice so I threw it in a pan with a bit of butter and olive oil.

Then added cumin & Tony Chachere's, small can tomato sauce, corn & pinto beans.

Turned out really good!

I know this recipe sounds crazy, but they are actually really great.

Pumpkin Chocolate Cupcakes

1 chocolate cake mix
15 oz can pumpkin
1/2 cup water

Mix and scoop into 18 cupcakes. Bake for 30 minutes at 350

Found this online and when we loved the chocolate (the kids still don't know the secret ingredient), I decided to try other types of cake mix. Tried lemon last night and they are fantastic! Dalton liked these much better than the chocolate.

And the batter is safe to eat unbaked too!

Jessie was wound up at bedtime last night at my dad's house where she sleeps with me. She's very lovey dovey at those times and would pat my hair and my back and give kisses. Then she stepped up her game and told me that I was her beautiful princess. She added that she and Maggie were princesses too. She told me that her daddy was my Prince Charming.

She thought for a second and added that Dalton was Prince mean. When I was telling Boyd all this, she corrected me and said "Dalton is not prince mean, he's just mean."

This is why I always pull her hair back.
