20-Minute (Mickey) Meatloaf

I've made this recipe since I was a kid. Usually they are just shaped into patties, but I felt Mickey inspired tonight and branched out.

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Mix together the following:

1 lb hamburger (tonight's recipe is with ground turkey)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pepper
Tony's seasoning
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup tomato sauce

Form into your patties and put in a baking dish.

Bake for 15 minutes and you get these. While baking, mix up the following for the awesome sauce:

Rest of the small can tomato sauce
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons parsley
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (I just now realized that I totally left this out of my sauce tonight!)

Pour sauce over the patties then bake for another 5 minutes. Here's how tonight's turned out.

Who would have thought I would be such a sucker for matching dresses. Helps when my models are so darn cute!

Jessie Anne has caught on to her big sister's fist bumping habit. What Jessie does not realize is that if the receiver is not ready to bump, she's just punching them.

Found this on my phone. Selfie taken by Maggie when she was playing with my phone.

Maggie Anne was telling me that Ree is my friend. I told her that Ree is also my mom.

Maggie shouted "What!?!"

I told her yes and asked a common question in our house, "Are you new here?"

"YES! I AM new here!"
I'm posting this to hold onto until Maggie Anne is a teenager. She wanted me to give her her Happy Meal toy on the way home tonight. When I couldn't give it to her because I was driving, she told me that she didn't love me anymore. I want to remind her of that when she "hates" me as a teenager.

Maggie Anne had her 4-year-old checkup this morning. She is perfect in every way.

She had tried to talk her way out of shots all the way up there. She said at one point that she would agree to getting shots if they would keep her from barfing for a year. She had to go get her hearing and vision checked after she saw the doctor, and I think she thought she was in the clear.

When the nurses came in to do the shots, I let her keep watching a show on my phone. Of course they hurt and she was really, really mad. We left with her hollering at me, "I TOLD you that I didn't want any shots!"

Maggie Anne got it a sleeping bag for her birthday. It has a cool bag that she can wear like a backpack. She likes to use it as a pillow while still wearing it.

Maggie Anne just told me that she wants to watch Spongebob Hot Pants. He lives under the sea, she told me.
Jessie Anne loved this electronic dragon toy that she found that used to belong to Dalton. She carries it around and talks to it. It has a couple of buttons on its back that will make it walk and roar. She loves the thing until she pushes the button and makes it walk. She then runs screaming from it in terror. She does it over and over again and she will go back to it and carry it around when it's not making its noises.

Funny girl.

Got a new donut pan. Tonight I decided to give it a try. Made a chocolate chip muffin mix that we had on-hand. Moderately successful project.

Pan is not really easy to fill. Doesn't hold a whole lot of dough so you end up making several batches.

Very cool part is that they cook in 8 minutes.

Dalton and Jessie Anne loved them. They were tasty.

Jessie Anne had some crazy hair this morning.

I made a Mexican lasagna for dinner tonight. Dalton is fairly picky and doesn't always like my experiments, but he liked this one. He told me afterwards that if I were to go on Chopped and cook that, the judges would tell me it was delightful and I would definitely win.

Dalton took an interest in watching Chopped with me when he caught on to the odd ingredients that they cook with - sheep testicles sealed the deal that he would watch it every time it is on. Don't ask him about the show if you are not interested in him telling you all about that episode and how gross it was.

Anyway, I will take his high praise. :-)
Jessie Anne had a blast playing in mom's complex pool. The first two steps were just perfect for her.

Maggie Anne put on quite the show for us at the Museum of Discovery downtown.

Putting on such a show makes a star tired, so she took a break.

The very cool cupcake cake from Sam's for Maggie Anne's birthday with her class. It's made up of 30 cupcakes.

New Shirt

Maggie Anne was looking at Zulily with me tonight. We found some funny tee shirts. She saw one with a cupcake and said she wanted it. I told her that it said, "I'll trade my brother for a cupcake," and she said, "I MUST have that shirt!"

I was very tempted.

Jessie's Selfies

Anger Management

This morning, Maggie Anne and I were watching a cartoon with a story about what to do when you get mad. I was asking her what made her mad. She told me, "You're the only thing that makes me mad, Mama." I told her to get used to it - that probably won't change any time soon.

Toes

Dalton calls his big toe his thumb toe. See where he came up with that, but made me laugh all the same.

Refrigerate it

Maggie Anne came in tonight and informed me that "when you don't want to be bothered, then you need to refrigerate it." Evidently she spent the entire trip home from school explaining the same thing to Boyd.
