Good to know

In the tubes tonight (indoor church play area), Dalton had these instructions for me:

Watch me go to the top blue slide.

Don't look at Maggie Anne.

Look at me.

Well, you can look at her if she falls.

New Film Titles

Last night I asked Dalton if he wanted to watch Alice in Wonderland. He asked, "Where is Alice's underwear?"

No, he wanted to watch "Engine Turtles" (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

I missed this in Biology

According to Dalton:

If you toot on a tree, it falls over.

If you toot on a lightning bug, he gets REALLY mad.

New View on the World

While confused at first, she started looking around at everything and laughing.

Have I mentioned how much she loves to be outside?

Zoo Meltdown

Had a fun trip to the zoo today, but knowing that Dalton had not had his nap, we knew eventually, it was gonna get rough. After a train ride on which Dalton managed to bump and bust his lip, the clock was ticking. We made the circle around the small carnivores and the whining began.

It's HOT! (in his defense, it made it to the mid 90's today and was it ever humid)

I need shade!

IT'S TOO HOT!

I'm gonna melt!

My feet hurt!

I have a very, very headache!

When we finally made it to the gate, he was in full moan mode. Thank goodness for the close parking space today! We wouldn't want our boy to melt. :-)

Pride cometh . . .

Boyd and I were high on our parenting horse as Dalton played doctor tonight. He checked our eyes, noses and ears and telling us what was wrong. We were thrilled to encourage such imaginative play. Hey, maybe this is how all doctors get their start. :-)

Well, not 20 minutes after this proud moment, I spent Dalton's entire bath time trying to convince him that his belly button was not, in fact, drinking the bath water. As he repeatedly showed me this amazing feat, I had to shake my head and laugh. Anatomy 101, here we come.

What do you think she is?

Tonight's gem:

Momma, Maggie Anne has teeth! Pretty soon we can give her people food.
