Parental Moment

So today my sister Elise and I take our kids to Disney on Ice. Not having his dad to go with him, Dalton had to use the "mommy bathroom." It was a while back that Dalton had his moment of clarity that boys and girls are different. He will readily tell you that boys have wieners and girls have . . . wait for it . . . belly buttons. Unfortunately today was another moment of clarity for my dear boy. After the show in a restroom full of people, there is a quiet moment so that the everyone can hear my son exclaim, "WHAT!?! Are you peeing out of your bottom?" I then made the horrible mistake of ignoring him. Failing to remember that he lacks the insight to know that I'm ignoring him, he assumes I did not hear him. So he repeats himself in a holler that was probably heard on the other side of the arena.

One might wonder why I would repeat if I was so embarrassed in the first place, but it's just one of those parental moments that you have to shake your head and laugh at - everyone else got to.
